My First Birthday Party - Sullivan and Fine Families

The papparazzi was in full force - with Auntie Nancy and Grandma Judy. Also, some photojournalists named Sophie Claire and Abraham were on duty. Check out the photo links to the right for more.

My First Birthday - December 8, 2009

Happy Birthday to ME. My first birthday was a ton of fun. I had a surprise birthday celebration at daycare where mommy came in for lunch and we all had a puff party. I left my buddies mid-day to spend with mommy and daddy. We got silly professional photos done, played with some new toys and had a visit from Grammy.

My Stats - November 2009

I've been a little behind updating my stats for all the professional sports leagues. I think I need an assistant.

As of this month I:
-am 23 pounds 13 ounces
-am not sure how tall, but I definitely look long
-have brown eyes (not hazel)
-love standing on my feet and as of this month, have been walking with a toy walker
-have two teeth, my bottom front ones came in late October
-started crawling (on my tummy like a snake) on Sunday night, November 15
-have been cruising for a few weeks, I love to pull myself up to the couch so I can grab the remotes
-love to stand on my feet and can do it without help for about one minute
-slowly but surely have tried new foods, most recently I've eaten steamed apples, broccoli, mangoes and even some roasted organic chicken
-can play catch with more than a small round ball, now even a football. See my user generated content below with Cousin Sophie.

My Latest Top 10

It has been a long time since I wrote. I've had writer's block...as I'm just such an incredibly busy baby. Below is my latest Top 10, listing some new favorites as well as old faithfuls.
1. I LOVE to play ball, whether it is with my Fisher Price basketball net or with the plush baseball...I can really play catch with my daddy.
2. I love standing. I can partially crawl and almost pull myself up, but I smile the most when I can stand on my feet and hold onto anything that will support me.
3. I'm definitely not going to be a food critic since I eat everything. I now mostly eat finger foods including mozzarella cheese, peas, carrots, blueberries, bananas, peaches, torn up waffles, pasta and avocado. Sometimes they call me, "The Avocado Kid!"
4. I'm growing so fast, I need a lot of new things. Grammy and GranDad bought me my first real pair of shoes on Friday. They are quite dapper. I'm also bored with my toys so Grandma and Grandpa spent today at Target finding new an exciting ones including a barn and an alphabet train. I made out well this weekend!
5. I'm looking forward to Halloween as I have two costumes...Superman or the Incredible Hulk. Would all my fans out there twitter your thoughts on which one I should be and I will get back to you on the outcome.

Now....for those golden oldies that have been and will always be near and dear to me -

6. My favorite story-reader is Cousin Sophie. She still reads to me and I love it. My big cuz, Nicholas, is pretty smart, too, and I hope to not only be on the Honor Society like him but to follow in his footsteps and be a good athlete.
7. Mommy and I still go on walks together. Sometimes at the mall in the stroller, but my favorite has always been outside in the Baby Bjorn....what is going to happen when I outgrow it?
8. I still love technology. Since I was very little I've done webcams with Grandma and Grandpa and now I'm webcaming with Cousin Elliott, too.
9. I still love my daycare. Every day we paint and do yoga. Sometimes we have civic visitors like last week when the firemen and fire engines stopped by.
10. I'm still a hugger and all my friends and relatives get a big smile and embrace when I see them. However my favorite is the hug-and-hold with mommy and daddy.

I Was A Star - On The Runway with Mommy

Mommy and I walked in a fashion show to honor breast cancer survivors. Grandma Judy flew into town to help and we spent the day in Concord, MA. I was a superstar and everyone in the audience clapped as I smiled the whole way down the runway. See the link with all the photos.

I Was a Champ!

I'm almost nine months and flew on a big airplane to Minnesota. Even though it was my first time, I was a pro and slept the whole flight!

Who's Your GranDaddy?

GranDad's twin brother came to visit today. Can you guess who is who?

I've been so busy that I haven't had time to write so let me catch you up. As a tribute to Leno and his 17-year career on "The Tonight Show," I will write a top 10 List. Oops, I guess that is David Letterman, but hey, do you expect a seven month old who is in bed by 7:15p.m. every night to know that?

10. I love the summer and the great outdoors. I sit in the Baby Bjorn and go on walks with mommy a few times a week.
9. I've moved on from Baby Beethoven and Mozart DVDs, I now listen to classical music as I fall asleep. It soothes me well.
8. I like to play in the Exersaucer a lot however I laugh every time I see my monkey puppet, Mr. Banana, named by my cousin, Sophie.
7. I have an appreciation of Michael Jackson's professional work. Mommy and daddy introduced me to his music at an early age, four days old, while I took my first bath we had his play list in the background.
6. I'm quite a smart little guy, every time I see a Diet Dr. Pepper, I grab for it thinking mommy is going to feed me because she always drinks them during my meal times.
5. I love to eat. I've spent the past few months snacking on oatmeal and pureed carrots. A few weeks ago I started eating yogurt, too.
4. I still enjoy daycare. They keep me busy with lots of projects. Last week we smooshed strawberries and then finger painted with the juice.
3. I'm a hugger. If you befriend me, I will likely give you a big hug around your neck.
2. I spent 4th of July with daddy's family and even got to hangout with my cousin Ethan from Boston.
1. I'm a pretty well mannered dude, smiling at my friends and teachers, big hugs for my cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles and especially mommy but I'm still a daddy's boy...and belly laugh the hardest at his jokes.

What a Wonderful World

A Tribute to Minneapolis!

Summer Family Birthdays

We sure have a lot of them...and my cousin, Elliott's, kicks off the season.  I love to celebrate holidays because it means I get to see family.

My daddy's family gets together for every birthday. The scene is very similar whether it is at Grammy's, Auntie Evelyn's or Auntie Amy's house during the summer...Sophie is wearing an apron and taking dinner orders, Nicholas drafts my daddy to play Playstation, Auntie Amy and Mommy jump and dance to make me laugh, Grammy or Sophie feed me and Uncle Nick grills the meal while drinking his Sam Adams juice.  Sometimes there is a bigger gathering with GranDad, Libbey and all of the Ponds.  I can't wait until July and August for summer birthday BBQs for Grammy, Nicholas, Sophie, my other baby cousin, Ethan, and mommy.

Since mommy's family is far away there haven't been as many birthday gatherings together, but then again, I'm not even six months yet.  My first road trip was to New Jersey to celebrate Auntie Nancy's special day.  Last week, we went back to see Grandma Judy, Grandpa Rich and the Robbins family to party for Elliott's first birthday.  He's now ONE.  Wow, he's old.  See the photos of all of us together.  I got to meet a few extended members of the Fine family, too...my cousin, Abe and his daddy as I had already met Aunt Jane, Aunt Paula and Uncle Merrill.

Mmmm Mmmm Not So Good

I started eating real food around my five month birthday.  My first gourmet meal was oatmeal and it didn't taste so good.  After a few days getting used to the slop in my mouth, we added carrots which made it taste a lot better.  Now I'm an old pro.  I love my oatmeal cereal, not so much rice, though.
I think my favorite is carrots, but I do a good job with squash, too.

Oh The Fun I Have at Daycare

My First Easter and Passover - Happy Holidays

MIami (of Ohio) Rules - But Didn't Win

I'm not only a Yankees fan, I have alliances to many sports teams including the former Miami University Redskins now known as the Redhawks.  Mommy went to school there and so we cheered on the hockey team when they played in the Frozen Four Finals...unfortunately they lost to BU. (BOO!)

Play Ball

I'm very excited for the Yankees season to start.  I've been practicing pitching, check out my fast-ball!

My First Road Trip

I experienced my first road trip this week. Mommy and I drove to New Jersey for Aunt Nancy's Birthday.  I had a great play date with my cousin Elliott. He let me sleep in his crib, use his bouncy chair and kick on his activity mat. They were all a little different than mine and so it was like I had a big brother to show me how to play with my new toys for the day.

My First 100 Days - Happy St. Patrick's Day

I definitely have a little (or a lot of) Irish in me...isn't it funny that my 100 Day Birthday is on St. Patrick's Day.  I didn't drink any green formula or watch a parade today but my daddy's relatives all celebrated on Sunday and boy do they know how to party.  Grammy and Grandad hosted the festivities and there was a ton of corned beef, cabbage, Irish soda bread and beer.  Everyone was so nice to me.  My cousin, Sophie, showed my new friend-cousins Kaitlyn and Amanda how I like to be fed and even taught them the the burp-a-sauraus song.

I Rolled Over Today

Maybe I got overly excited because my cousins were coming over to play or maybe I was really hungry and wanted to get up and get my bottle myself but the bottom line is...I rolled over and smiled afterwards. I think I surprised not only my mommy but myself.

My Top Picks - March 2009

I'm almost three months old so figured I should share some of my favorite things with my fans. Here is my Top 10 List:

1.  Favorite Buddy - Daddy...and Mommy, too, but I'm told I'm a daddy's boy because I always save the biggest smiles for when my daddy gets home from work.
2.  Favorite Night Out - I had a blast at my cousins' house a few weeks ago.  Sophie read some of my new books to me, helped give me a bath and feed me.  Big cousin Nicholas is really cool. He hangs with the big boys but always makes time for me.  I hope to grow up and be just like him.  He's really smart and gets good grades but also is an amazing athlete.  He knows a lot about sports but apparently he hasn't figured out that the Red Sox are bad news.
3.  Favorite Laugh - That is an easy one...Grammy Sullivan for sure!
4.  Favorite Toy Right Now - My activity mat from Aunt Jane, Uncle James and Cousin Abraham is really big and bright. I smile a lot at the mirror hanging from the mobile and kick my legs around, too.  My NY buddy, Michelle, gave me one that I love, as well.  I use it for Grammy's.
5.  Favorite Quiet Time Fun - Watching Little Einstein's Baby Beethoven.  Wow, I sure am mesmerized by the music.  Maybe I will learn to play the piano like my Grandpa Rich.  But to be like Beethoven, I'd have to have some crazy big hair and I'm not sure that runs in the family.  (My daddy would make that joke.)
6.  Favorite Outfit Right Now - Hand-me-down Janie and Jack baseball outfit from cousin Elliott and preppy vest, oxford and khaki's from mommy's friend Lillian.
7. Favorite Song - "Las Vegas Nights" by Hootie and the Blowfish and "Lovey - Lovey - Lovey" by singer/songwriter, Mommy Sullivan circa 2009.
8. Favorite Holiday - Though I had my first Christmas and Hanukkah this year, I was too little to really experience it.  I'm excited for my first St. Patrick's Day with GranDad and maybe even Aunt Libbey.  I hear that St. Patrick's Day is a fun event for all the Sullivans.  Daddy even owns green pants...maybe with enough of that Amstel juice he will dance.
9.  Favorite Sport and Team - Baseball and New York Yankees - If you haven't figured that out by now, please re-read my entire blog.
10. My All-Time Favorite - My Family and Friends - Thanks to all my visitors...and to all of you whom I will meet this month.  Can't wait!

It Isn't MTV Cribs It is MY Crib

My Crib aka my home is in Milford, Connecticut and all I have to say is...it rocks! In fact, I just graduated into my own big boy room where I'm sleeping full time in my crib. Check out my digs. (Say "Hi" to Grandma Judy who came to visit last weekend in the first photo.) We even snuck in a Minnesota Twins clothing tree to honor my Grandpa Rich but other than that anything baseball has a Yankees logo on it.

I apologize to all my fans for the lack of entries lately. I've been adventuring out-and-about so haven't been near my computer. We don't go far, but have already spent way too much time at Target. (I think my mommy got sick of shopping at Amazon.com.) She also likes to exercise, so we go mall-walking and it is amazing how much more enjoyable the experience is during the week. Even with all the excitement of the outside-world, I am still a home-body. My favorite pastimes include: kicking on my activity gym mat, watching the lights on the big screen TV (I know, I know, it's bad...) and smiling at the brown lamp.

Been Busy

Sorry I haven't been blogging lately. I've just been so busy with learning how to suck my thumb and keeping my parents up at night that it's really hard to find the time to sit at the computer. Anyway, here's a pic of me sucking my thumb. I'm pretty new at it, but I think I'm a natural.

Minnesota or Connecticut?

Growing up in Minnesota, my mommy must've had to wear silly hats like this all the time. Now she gets to put me through the same pain. Oh well, at least I make it look good.

Happy 1st Month Birthday to ME

What We Do

So, you may ask, what does a newborn do all day? I find it hard to believe that mommy and daddy lived at Grammy's for eight months, dined out every night and spent weekend afternoons going from movie theater to movie theater while the house was under reconstruction as they seem pretty comfortable not leaving here for days. I enjoy it, too. I love napping in daddy's arms while he gets in a game of Playstation. (He's a talented guy who can use the PS3 one handed.) Mommy and I hibernate at home during the week. We sleep a lot, though I sometimes catch her trying to reorganize the closets while I'm napping. However, that doesn't last long because I really like to be held so we're trying to find fun activities to do together besides watching "Days of our Lives." We read a lot but I often fall asleep to the literature chosen. Fitness Magazine and Multichannel News are not my style however anything sports related sparks my interest. Let me clarify, anything sports related outside of Red Sox news. Check out my favorite blog on YESNetwork.com - www.themax.mlblogs.com. Last but certainly not least, my favorite pastime outside of burping, sleeping and feeding is (drum-roll please) riding in my swing.
