Happy Holidays 2010

Happy Holidays! It has been an exciting month. Thanksgiving was at Grammy's and the big news around town was that I stopped using my bottle. The food was delicious and the decor was top-notch as always!

My 2nd birthday was earlier this month. Mommy took the day off and celebrated with a mini-party at school. I was so proud to have her join Circle Time. We gave introductions and I said my name "KY-le Suhl-veh," sang songs and read stories. We painted with a hanukkah candle as that week we were studying about Hanukkah.

We had a nice Hanukkah and lit the candles all eight days. I thought that Hanukkah was broken because the lights were not on during the day. I also really liked getting presents. Grandma and Grandpa Fine celebrated the last night with us and stayed for my birthday party.

My second birthday party was mostly family and there were a lot of fun kids. My cousin Sophie and Aunt Libbey helped us play pin-the-tail on the donkey. We thought it was great to put the stickers on the wall. My new favorite toys are a train set given to me by Grandma Judy and Grandpa Rich and an easel from Grammy and Grandad (LoJo.) Thanks to everyone for coming and for daddy who put together all my gifts afterwards.

Speaking of presents, both daddy, mommy, school and Dora taught me about Santa. If you ask me about Santa I will tell you that he brings gifts. When asked what gifts Santa brought me, I say "presents." I had a wonderful Christmas with the DiSabellas, Sullivans and Ponds. I made everyone at church laugh because I was talking the whole time. I never cried, just spoke a lot about Boots, Kai-lan and Dora from Nick Jr. They are my special friends (stuffed animals that I try to take with me everywhere.) Even at night in my crib, my friends all join me: Boots, Kai-lan, Swiper, Tony, Yogie and Doggie.

It has been a great week off so far. School is out and so we party. I've been going to the My Gym, which I call Kyle's gym. I still like the balls the best. I've also tried out the trampoline and balance beam successfully. The Children's Museum is a new favorite hot spot, too. While I love the adventures, I still am a homebody. I could play with daddy and my new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse all-day long. That is a good thing since we got hit with a huge snowstorm on Monday. We stayed in doors for almost two straight days. I did go out to play in the snow, though.

Happy New Year everyone. More stories to come in 2011!

Happy Turkey Day

It was too hard to say Thanksgiving so daddy taught me how to say "Happy Turkey Day." We had a nice holiday weekend. It started with the festivities at Grammy's. She is a yummy cook and always decorates her house so beautifully it feels like you are walking into a holiday party. As usual, mommy and I woke up early and went to the park with Brady and his mommy. I like to kick the soccer ball, sometimes even pretend it is a basketball and throw it in the net. I can say all those words, too. While I still like balls, I really love to color. I could spend 30-minutes straight just drawing circles and baby Doras. The big news is that I am thinking about using the potty. Today all my bears were diapered and then I brought them to the baby potty. Other new bits of information is that I like trains. I have a starter train set that mommy and daddy bought months ago and now I'm using it. I like to share, so often give daddy the red one, mommy the big blue one and my stuffed animal, Boots, the baby blue one. Happy holiday season everyone.

Happy Halloween

Check out Tile (that is what I call myself - at least it rhymes with Kyle) as Doug Heffernen from the TV show King of Queens for Halloween.

October 2010

HI. I'm growing fast so Mommy encouraged me to update the blog.
  • Talking - I'm talking up a storm and communicate well. I usually use words that make sense so people often understand me. Sometimes I have an attitude, though, and will say "move daddy" or "MINE."
  • Singing - I sing a lot! I still love the ABC's and Row, Row, Row Your Boat but also like Mickey Mouse Club and of course, Dora the Explorer. Now that I know my ABC's I can sing along or finish the verse.
  • Hugging - I'm a hugger and love to embrace my family with big hugs and kisses. Daddy and I have a special handshake, which is really a fist pound.
  • School - I graduated to the next classroom at daycare and reunited with my old buddies. I still love art and "dramatic play." One day daddy walked in the room and didn't even know I was the policeman in the corner.
  • Drinking - I'm down to one bottle a day. Mommy may even give me a sippy at night - I want to be completely off my bottle by my 2-year birthday. I still love apple juice and even wrote a song about it. I shout it loud into the microphone. I change the lyrics and last night was singing apple cider.
  • Food - I went to the allergist and was surprisingly well behaved, even when they pricked me. I am VERY allergic to eggs so just a friendly reminder to all my fans - please do not feed me anything unless it has been approved by the daddy police (mommy, too).
  • Athletic - I move fast. When I run I wave my hands and wiggle my hips. I still love balls and have amazingly great form when I throw a basketball into the hoop. I have also shown improvement walking up the stairs - from time to time can actually do it without crawling.
  • Math - Supposedly being a math wiz runs in the family however Starbucks, Target and many other stores help in counting our money. I'm a great counter. I can count to 13 but often start with 6. Maybe I will take over the bills in a few years.
Happy Halloween everyone. Like last year, I have two costumes. I will spend the day wearing the new kimono that my Grandma Judy and Grandpa Rich bought me from China. By night I will moonlight as a UPS Man. Between Grammy's ebay purchases and mommy's from Amazon, the UPS man makes a lot of visits here.

Catching Up

Here are a few items to catch you up on what I have been saying and doing:
  • My favorite new word is suh-kuh - which is circle and I probably use it a lot because I still love balls. I now even can describe the ball and whether it is a basketball or soccer ball.
  • I've graduated to the big boy bath. I no longer use the infant tub that I've barely fit in for the past six months. I guess I should have said, mommy and daddy graduated and now bathe me in the normal tub.
  • Lately while I haven't been pole-dancing, I have been found stripping in my crib when I wake. Every day this week, I've been nearly naked when mommy or daddy come to get me.
  • I take nature walks around the block and often times without the stroller. I collect sticks, step on acorns and often touch the trees.
  • I still love Dora more so than Diego, Mickey Mouse or Elmo. I sing a long with her and despite what the pediatricians say about watching TV (or not watching for that matter) the 30-minutes I watch a day has taught me several words.
  • We still go to a lot of parks and recently found a pretty cool one in Stratford.
  • I went to the beach once this summer. I loved the sand and called the Long Island Sound, the bath. I still haven't been in a pool but am hoping to take swimming lessons soon.
  • In school I continue to love art and circle time. My favorite song is "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" and I know most of the "A-B-C's."
Hope everyone had a great summer and is enjoying the Fall Equinox!

Summer 2010

It's been a hot one and so we've been busy despite the heat. I've been eating popsicles to cool me down but I get annoyed by the stick, so just put it on the table and then lick it. It's quite the trend as now the other kids at daycare are doing it, too.

I love animals. Last week the critter van came and I tried to kiss all of them including the snake, hedgehog and bunny rabbits. So today, mommy took me to the zoo and that bored me because I couldn't go up and touch the bears or tigers. I got the most excited when I noticed that the black bear had a ball in his cage just like the big red one outside Target.

I'm growing up fast (or so they say) and now I have a little 'tude. My favorite word is NO, but I say it so sweetly that my parents hold back their giggles. I'm quite the daredevil, as well and not only do I not listen when they tell me not to climb the table and couches but I also try to jump off them.
Some of my new hobbies include building blocks and stacking items. I still enjoy buckling the chair seats and could spend 20-minutes just buckling and unbuckling them. I'm helpful around the house. I often get mommy and daddy their shoes when I want them to go outside. I also take my dishes out of the drawers but normally just leave them there.

We've taken a few road trips this summer. First to Boston where we walked around the city all day and then went to a family birthday party and the weekend after to Newport, RI. As you can see from the photo on the right, I didn't want to leave.

Jibber Jabber Baby

I started out with just a few words - ball, duck and Dada. As time went by I really began noticing my surroundings and would say dog or bird - on my walks, Elmo, Mickey Mouse (Me-eh-Mah) - when I saw the TV, shoes - as I was being dressed and bath - as mommy puts me in the water.

Now I can actually communicate - in the morning I say "UP-Y" which translates to "up please." I say "more," "no more" or even "no mas" when I'm eating. As you can see I'm bilingual and use Spanish from time-to-time. I have learned a lot from daycare as I know many of my friends names especially a cute little lady named Ella. When you ask for a kiss, I throw you one or pucker my lips and when the light is turned off, I say "nigh nigh." Even though I know a ton of words, I still communicate in my own language and talk a lot! Often times it sounds like gibberish but ends with "daddy ball."

I've been really active the past month. We went to visit Cousin Elliott, Aunt Nancy and Uncle Matt over Memorial Day weekend and went to a "Little Gym" class, visited the most extravagant playground mommy and daddy had ever seen and ate at Chipotle many times. Back on the home front, I attended Sophie and Nicholas' school play, which was "High School Musical" and when I saw the basketballs, I tried to run on stage and grab them. On weekends we hang out with my neighbor-pal Brady. Sometimes we ride while the mommies walk and talk. Other times we play and I love going to his place because his toys are different than mine. Mommy and daddy have both been exploring new playgrounds for me each weekend. Nothing compares to the one in Cleveland but the ones locally serve their purpose. I have fun, run around and it keeps me entertained.

I'm off to take a nap, those playgrounds sure do tire me out. Happy Summer everyone!

My First Haircut - May 22

My production crew took some video to share with my fans. The funniest part wasn't captured on film. When they put me in the barber seat, I was calm, because I thought it was a high chair. It was, just not one where they serve you food.

April Showers Bring...

a lot of indoor play! When it rains we have our own stay-cations in the red room. My little white table has turned into an arts and crafts haven. I often try and eat the crayons so mommy and daddy have me focus on putting them away which is quite entertaining. Since my last update we experienced Passover, which was nice but small and Easter that was fun celebrating with Uncle Chris and his new fiancee, Beth. I still enjoy going to the Fairfield Library and even took Grandma Judy when she came last week. I played with Ethan yesterday morning at Auntie's and hadn't seen his since August. He told me that Elmo is in his family. Boy is he lucky. Speaking of luck, I hear my cousins Nicholas and Sophie just got a dog. I love animals. I'm looking forward to seeing cousin Elliott's dog, Baskin, next month, too. We're doing well, even throughout a few weeks of a tough cold, cough and virus. Not to mention my newly obtained attitude, lets just say, I'm starting to experience the terrible twos. See photos above.

March Madness

Happy March Madness everyone. It has been a good month. I've had some new experiences including my very own nature walks (just the sidewalk in front of our house.) Other exciting adventures include taking a road trip into the city to see my friend Farrah and partying at Grammy and Grandad's 2nd annual St. Patty's Day soiree. I'm talking a lot and adding a few new words to my vocabulary including bath, dog, bear, book, baby, apple and nose. I'm quick to say "all done" when ever I'm finished and still cry a lot when I don't get what I want. I continue to love daycare and the daily art projects. Apparently, I'm always the first to run to the crafts table. I'm eating new foods weekly that include egg-less pizza, corn and melon. I'm looking forward to the spring because I can't wait to explore in the backyard we share with my cousins Nicholas and Sophie. Bye for now. By the way, this editorial posting is dedicated to my Aunt Nancy because today is her birthday.

Happy February 2010

Hello Hello and Happy February everyone. It has been a whirlwind of a month. I now have had seven ear infections in the past nine months and this time I must have contracted a virus, as well, as I got mommy and daddy sick, too. It looks like I'm going to have to get ear tubes. Oh well.

The weather has been ok from time to time so we have been trying to go on lots of weekend walks to enjoy the fresh air while we can. We walk with our new friends down the block, Brady and his mommy. We've had a few play dates. It is fun to explore with someone else's toys. I really like his play piano with the microphone. I continue to have fun with my own toys, as well.

I really love stuffed animals especially bears and ducks. I can even say those words. In fact, if you ask me what I cow says, I know to shout "MOO!" Since I'm a huge Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan, mommy got me a real stuffed Mickey Mouse. I was pretty confused when I saw it. Sophie and Nicholas also gave me a DVD and a set of Mickey keys for Valentine's Day, which I use daily. I now sleep with a blankee, night-night that has been named, Tony, since he's a tiger.

I hope you are all enjoying this snowy winter. I can't wait until Spring. Milford beaches, here I come.

Quick Update - January 2010

I'm a growing boy and learning so much. Here is quick update of my happenings over winter break:

10. I explored a lot. My favorite place was the Fairfield library. They have a Baby Farm area where there are toys, a castle made out of gym mats, a big circus mirror and of course, books. We went a few times.

9. We also visited the Westport library, they have more toys at this one. I played with my first plastic train set and met Thomas the Train and friends.

8. I just love bouncy balls! I participated in my first MY GYM class and was most enthralled by the big green exercise ball. I, of course, played a little basketball. Mommy was impressed that I saw the basket and knew to take the ball and throw into it. I also rode on my first swing.

7. I'm walking more. I typically take about five steps and then dive into the person standing nearby. I took twenty steps one time, but since then, my highest number is ten. In fact, I was having so much fun on New Year's Eve day that I dove into the couch. Unfortunately, that was my first bloody accident because I cut my eye-lid and we had to go to the doctor. Another first here, I have a scar, which daddy thinks makes me tough.

6. I talk A LOT! My first word was "BA" = ball. My next few were "a-DUH "= duck and "BU" = bye.

5. I still love to eat. I'm no longer "the avocado kid" as I've been refusing them lately. I also like to throw my peas. I still love bananas and yogurt. I recently started eating more chicken and ground turkey.
4. Rather disappointing news on the food front, I'M ALLERGIC TO EGGS! Oh no, that means, no cookies, ice cream, muffins, pancakes....and so many baked goods. Hopefully I have Auntie Amy's genes and prefer a big steak to all the carb-filled goodies that my mommy loves.

3. Yesterday, daddy was singing (yes, you heard me right) with my learning bear and he said the word "kiss." I then showed him how I can blow a kiss. Surprised him, alright! See, I'm learning a lot at school. In fact, they are teaching me to count and I can do it all the way up to the number one!

2. I played in the snow for the first time. Ten minutes outside and I wasn't quite sure what to think of it. I made a few snow angels and then we went back into the warm house.

1. Happy Freezing Cold January Everyone - xoxo

Happy Holidays - 2009

Happy Holidays! I was very little last year so didn't get to fully appreciate the holidays. This year, I lit the Hanukkah candles with Grandma Judy, Grandpa Rich and even one night with Cousin Elliott and my Aunt Nancy and Uncle Matt. They gave me lots of great gifts, at least one for each of the eight nights of Hanukkah. I doubled my toy collection, for sure!
Christmas eve, even though I was a little under the weather, I celebrated with Cousin Nicholas and Sophie at their house. Auntie Amy made a great dinner, as usual, and then we opened presents with Meme and Auntie Linda. (While they are not really my Meme and Auntie...I feel like they are because they are so special to Uncle Nick, Auntie Amy, Nicholas and Sophie as well as my mommy and daddy!) Since I had a fever on Christmas, Grammy and Grandad celebrated with us the following day. I got a lot of great gifts and one of my favorites was a big blue bear sled. I love it so much, I use it as a chair.
